The email below is a great example of alerting all parents that they should have received an SMS text message. This email accomplishes multiple objectives:
- Alerting all subscribed Mobile E-Alert users that they should have received a message.
- Informs users that were unaware that SMS alerts are an option.
- Gives explicit directions on how to subscribe.
- Assures users that even if they don't sign up for SMS text messages, they will still receive the E-alerts

Subject:Manhattan School DistrictAll registered users of manhattan.schoolwires.com, who have their mobile phone number entered in their user settings, just received a simple text message from this website. It is part of the process of developing the school website to provide short term notification of urgent and emergency alerts affecting the school.
Note that text messages are limited to 160 characters so they will very simple and contain little detail. Any text message sent from the school will have a follow-up email sent. If you didn't receive the text and would like to, you need to simply enter your mobile number in your user settings:
My Account - Edit User Settings - E-alert Settings
This process is being tested and details sorted out so comments are appreciated. The plan is to have the February newsletter include information detailing the process.
Thanks,
Dan Heisler, Website Coordinator
